OzesWorld Commentary December 10, 2002 One Christian's view of Islam By Oze McCallum - OzesWorld Editor ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Even though the President has called Islam a "Religion of Peace", there is much about it that is anything but peaceful. It had its origins in the 7th century AD when Mohammed, its prophet, was rejected as a prophet for the Jews that were living in and around the Medina area of what is now Saudi Arabia. There was much jealousy and rage against the Jews of that time by Mohammed and his followers due to the higher social and monetary standards of the Jews. So, Mohammed started a war against them and threw them out. Mohammed himself wrote the Koran, claiming it to be the word of God. The Koran itself is filled with hateful words of war against other religions, claiming that either other religions must submit or die. It takes various parts of the Jewish and Christian religions and distorts and corrupts them to fit into it's own. For instance, in the Koran, Jesus was not crucified on the cross. There was a magical transformation such that someone else was actually crucified. That supposedly explains why Jesus didn't speak when he was brought before Pilate; it wasn't Jesus. There is no Trinity in the Koran. There is no savior in the Koran. As opposed to Christianity, where God saves man through the blood of Christ, only good works can get you to Heaven. Of course, as Christians know, there is no amount of good works anyone can do that can get you to Heaven. "Since all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:22 In my humble opinion, I believe that Islam is a satanic teaching that is designed to draw men away from God rather than toward Him. As in all of Satan's ways, he distorts God's word just enough to make man think that it could possibly be true. I remember what was said to Eve in the garden: "Did God say, 'You shall not eat of any tree of the garden'?" Genesis 3:1 He speaks through Islam today, saying it is a blissful thing to kill Jews with suicide bombers, and end up with virgins in Paradise. His hands were at work at the controls of the planes that flew into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the field in Pennsylvania. He rears his head and makes his mark wherever there are those that would deny the divinity of Jesus Christ.
